Meet Our New DT!

Hi everyone! It's been the longest several weeks ever, lol! It's time to finally announce the new design team for the Love To Craft Challenge Blog! I want to personally thank everyone who applied. Unfortunately, everyone who applied could not be chosen but please know that all of you ladies have some awesome talent and we appreciate your interest!

Now, let's get to the fun stuff! It's my pleasure to make some long-awaited introductions!

Introducing the Crafty Girls!

Amy
Hi, my name is Amy. I am a stay at home mother to three amazing children. My daughter is 18 and my two boys are 17 and 13, they keep me full of life and very busy at times. We live in Georgetown, Texas which is right outside of Austin, TX. After growing up in a military family it is nice to stay in one place for awhile. I love to travel and of course craft. I started scrapbooking 16 years ago and have been making cards for 7, I love both but right now card making is my favorite. My style is more CAS then anything but I love trying new techniques.

Ann
Hello everyone! My name is Ann Chuang. I'm so delighted to be a part of the Love To Craft Design Team! I live in Taiwan. I am a junior high school math teacher and a mom of 3 children Hedy, Vivian and Eason. I started crafting about 2012. At that time, I started making very simple cards that would take me hours to make, but the look of pure joy that people give you after receiving a handmade card is worth every second! I always believe that "the handmade has temperature". I love sharing my love of stamping/cardmaking with everyone & I'm really looking forward to sharing my creations with all of you! Thank you Leslie & my other teammates for inviting me to be a part of your awesome team!!

Carol
Hi my name is Carol from Kingston Upon Hull. I have been married for 46 years and have three grown up children and five grandchildren. I have crafted for many years- knitting, crochet, cake decorating and now card making. I have just also started dabbling in mixed media and loving my watercolours and Brushos. I have also rediscovered my love of stamping too. I am delighted to be joining the other ladies at Love to Craft.

Hazel
For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in crafting of some sort or another, hence the name Craftyhazelnut! As a child I was fairly frequently ill and off school, so my time was often taken up with some form of crafting – embroidery, knitting, sketching and anything that involved cutting and sticking.

As an adult, for a few years, with work commitments, etc., crafty things fell into the background a bit, but for years I always had some knitting, crocheting, embroidery or cross stitching on the go.

Cross stitching is how I got into cardmaking, then I started to produce cards on the computer and then papercrafting itself about fifteen years ago, mainly cardmaking, but I also do some scrapbooking and, more recently, mixed media projects.

Crafting is such a good way of relaxing and trying to forget about the aches and pains! I find that being on Design Teams and entering challenges keeps me up to date with trying new things that perhaps I wouldn’t otherwise try. I sell cards to raise money for charities – this includes Christmas cards, so I need to make a lot throughout the year, which is why I started my own Christmas challenge blog. I also have a popular challenge blog for using patterned paper.

Heather
I'm a married stay at home mom of two young adult children. I've enjoyed arts and crafts for as long as I can remember.

I'm excited to be a part of this new blog and am looking forward to being inspired by the wonderful team of designers as well as our participants!

Irena
Hello! My name is Irena and I am from the town of Dobrich, Bulgaria. I am happily married to my best friend. I am a mother of two grown-up daughters and one son. I have a granddaughter and she takes me back in time to motherhood in the sweetest way.

I feel free to call myself an artist, because I'm very artistic and I enjoy to practice this art ;)  I still wonder whether to call my art hobby or lifestyle.

I started with cards at the end of 2013. In the fall of 2014 I found mix media and since then it remains my preferred style. Although the cards will always have that special place on my work table. I still trying different techniques and in most cases I learn from other masters.

I create. I’m looking for stories in everything. Sometimes I do found it and sometimes – did not ... but all the time I really enjoy crafting. It is a big honor for me to be a part of Love to Craft Challenge blog DT.

Jean
I have always loved crafting, started knitting in my teens, then onto cross stitch. The love of my life at the moment is paper crafting, every day I have to make something. After a long day at work it's a very relaxing hobby. I also knit for charity. I am on two Design Teams and I love it. I am married and have a wonderful son Ryan who has just passed his masters degree. I also work full time, assistant manager in a busy retail store.

Julie
I first got into scrapbooking in 2011 as a form of therapy after a serious breakdown and diagnosis of anxiety and major depression in 2009. Prior to that I had been working in the IT industry for 18 years, my last role being my department's website co-ordinator. Over the years I have dabbled in arts and crafts - from art in high school to ceramics and tapestry. I did manage to finish a piece but sewing stuff really isn't my thing. My entering the world of scrapbooking came when Mum and I attended a beginner's class in 2011 and it all took off from there. Since then, I've also been doing Off the Page items, card making and more recently stamping/colouring and mixed media. I don't have a particular style when it comes to scrapbooking. However, I do like the photos to be the main focal point and make the paper/embellishments compliment the photo. It's the same with my cardmaking. I prefer to showcase the image and compliment with papers and embellishments but leaving the image as the main focus. Photography is also another hobby of mine and I love creating layouts as a way to display my photos. The two hobbies go hand in hand perfectly.

Lee
Hi, my name is Lee and I live in the gorgeous Colorado mountains! Hubby and I are recent empty-nesters. After homeschooling our 2 children, our daughter graduated college and our son recently got married. I love to bake and read and of course stamp and scrapbook. So now is mom's time to really dive into the craft room! My hubby is amazing and so supportive of my addiction! He and his Dad even built me an amazing huge built-in craft cabinet in my small craft room! I first learned about scrapbooking but shortly afterward discovered stamping. I enjoy both but mostly card-making for almost 10 years now! How my style and addiction has changed and grown! I recently jumped in to Stampin' Up and you can always find me on Splitcoast Stampers and Facebook! Pink and Bling are my favorite! But I make sure to challenge myself so I don't miss out on pretty much any style or technique. I'm so excited to be here and look forward to being part of this fantastic blog! Thanks Leslie!!

Leslie (Blog Owner)
My name is Leslie, I'm married with two grown children and one granddaughter, and I live in north Florida. I began scrapbooking about 40 years ago, way back when scrapbooks were really bland - before all the fun papers and embellishments came about. For the last 20 years or so, my paper passion has been card making. I started out making computer-generated cards, graduated to card kits, then quickly realized that having my own stash of stuff was the way to go! The rest is history, as they say! I'm addicted to rubber stamping and also enjoy making 3-D paper projects (especially paper shoes and mini albums), have been known to alter a few tins and boxes, and enjoy beading and making jewelry occasionally when I find time. I recently opened an eBay store called Hippie Chick Designs where I peddle my wares, lol. I started blogging and entering challenges several years ago, and loved it so much that I decided to start the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog in early 2013. It's been an awesome journey... so awesome and so much fun that she now has a sister blog - Love To Craft Challenge Blog! Looking forward to more crafting with you all! :)

Pippa
I am a lot nearer 60 than 50, married to Tim, who is retiring from the ministry at the end of September and we have two adult children both moved away. I work part time as a teaching assistant in a local primary school. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember starting with the inevitable 'learn to knit scarf' when I was a child. I dabble in a number of crafts; knitting, crochet, cross stitch, scrap booking, and paper crafts. My favourite is stamping and colouring having been introduced to rubber stamping years ago by a friend. More recently I have been experimenting with digi stamps and layouts. When not crafting I enjoy reading and walking although long term health issues put some restrictions on where I walk!

Tina
Hi, I'm Tina DeMarche, the Domestic Engineer of my home of four boys. I homeschool my two youngest boys and enjoy learning with them. I started cross-stitching at age 6 and have loved keeping my hands busy ever since. Cooking is another one of my favorite things I like to do and it keeps my hungry boys happy.

I took a calligraphy class in 2001 and we would make Christmas cards to swap amongst ourselves. Thus began my love for card making, but I really didn't get into stamping until years later. I guess I have been stamping for 9 years now, but over the last 5 I have started to collect stamps and they have taken over my crafting closet. I'm excited to be joining Leslie on another Design Team adventure :o)

Let's start this next adventure....

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please tell all your friends and fellow crafty peeps that our debut challenge will launch on August 1st at 6:00 AM EST! Can't wait to see what you create! Remember... it doesn't have to be paper art! It can be ANY handmade craft! As long as it's decent, lol!
